The quality of a wine is the result of experience. The experience of the producer, but also experience intended as trial, tasting, appreciation. Only wines which have come up to the standards of Simona and her staff are purchased for the Wine Bar’s cellars, for only too often a famous label does not mean a great wine, while excellent products may be little known or under publicised.
On offer, therefore, are not only the trusty great wines such as Amarone, Barolo, Chianti, but also wines from Lombardy and other Italian regions, not so well known, perhaps, but chosen among the best. With an eye both to stimulating the curiosity of clients and to offering at reasonable prices worthy products not over-rated by fame or fashion, the cellar is constantly being renewed. So often, in fact, that if a wine list were drawn up it would soon be out of date. It was therefore decided to let the clients choose their own bottle from the shelf, advised, when necessary, by Simona. |
